Common Questions
Frequently Ask Questions
What makes Nestor Elite Tennis Performance Institute different from other tennis programs?
We specialize in individualized, science-based player development built on 30+ years of proven success. Unlike programs that rely on one-size-fits-all coaching or the reputation of former pro players, our approach starts with a full athletic and mental assessment, followed by a personalized performance blueprint tailored to each player’s unique strengths and goals.
Does my child need to be at an advanced level to join your program?
No. We work with players of all levels—from beginners building fundamentals to national, college-bound, and professional athletes. What matters most is motivation and a willingness to learn. Our system adapts to each athlete’s stage of development.
How does the player assessment process work?
Every athlete begins with a comprehensive evaluation that covers agility, movement, coordination, body composition, technique, mental focus, and natural play tendencies. This assessment helps us design a development plan customized to the individual—not a generic method or someone else’s playing style.
Do you use video analysis and modern training tools?
Absolutely. Advanced video review, performance metrics, targeted drills, and elite hitting partners are core parts of our training system. These tools help players see, feel, and improve technique and decision-making with precision.
Are former professional players better coaches?
Not necessarily. Playing at a high level and coaching at a high level require completely different skill sets. Research—and decades of results—show that the best coaches are experts in communication, individualization, psychology, and long-term development.
At Nestor Elite Tennis, our strength is in developing players, not relying on past fame.
Do you help players pursue college tennis opportunities?
Yes. We offer college pathway guidance, including skill development, performance tracking, goal setting, and mentorship. Many of our athletes have earned scholarships at NCAA Division I, II, and III programs due to consistent training and structured planning.
What age groups do you accept?
We work with junior players starting as young as 6 years old, depending on readiness, through high-performance athletes competing in national, ITF, college, and professional levels.
How long does it take to see improvement?
Every player improves at their own pace, but most see meaningful progress within weeks due to our targeted, individualized approach. Long-term, sustainable improvement—technical, physical, and mental—comes from consistent training and our “one day, one player, one purpose” philosophy.
How long does it take to see improvement?
Yes. Each year, we welcome a select group of dedicated young athletes to live and train under Coach Nestor’s guidance. These players commit to an intensive schedule of 4–6 hours of daily training, focused on complete technical, physical, and mental development.
Acceptance is limited and based on commitment, discipline, and readiness for high-performance training.
